Özet: Kısıtlar Teorisi/Senkronize Üretim sistemine göre bir işletmenin asıl amacı para kazanmak olmalıdır. Bu doğrultuda, net kar, yatırım üzerinden getiri, ve nakit akışı verileri işletmenin finansal açıdan performansının ölçülmesine yardımcı olur. Üretim/işlemler yönetimi açısından ise, kazanç, stok ve işlem maliyetleri, işletmenin performansını etkileyen faktörlerdir. Kazanç, stok ve işlem maliyetlerinin denetimi için sistem, darboğazlar ve kapasite sınırlı kaynaklar üzerine yoğunlaşmalıdır. Sistemin darboğazlı kaynaklardan en üst düzeyde yararlanabilmesi için Optimize Üretim Teknolojisi Kuralları yol gösterici niteliktedir. Senkronize Üretimin temelini oluşturan Kısıtlar Teorisi, Goldratt tarafından önerilen 'Beş Adımlı Odaklaşma' süreciyle uygulamaya konulabilir. Kısıtlar Teorisi/Senkronize Üretim felsefesine göre, bir organizasyon, tüm birimleriyle senkronize olmuş bir şekilde, para kazanma amacı doğrultusunda çalışmalıdır.

Abstract: According to the Theory of Constraints/Synchronous Manufacturing system, the "goal" of any firm should be to make money. For this purpose, net profits, return on investment and cash flow are used to measure the financial performance of the firm. From production/operations management point of view, throughput, inventory and operating expenses are the factors which influence the performance of the firm. In order to control throughput, inventory and operating expenses, the system should focus on bottlenecks and capacity-constrained resources. The rules of Optimized Production Technology are assumed to be the guiding principles to get the maximum out of bottleneck resources. Theory of Constraints, that constitute the basics of Synchronous Manufacturing, can be put into practice by the 'Five Step Focusing Process' as proposed by Goldratt. According to the Theory of Consraints/Synronous Manufacturing system, in order to attain the goal of making money, all parts of the firm should operate synchronously.
