Abstract
Fiction. Mel and Jacq once traveled the world together digging up ancient artifacts in lost ruins and selling them to the highest bidder. Between Jacq's experience as an army veteran and Mel's "gift"---a kind of intuition that showed him secrets others would look right over---they had the perfect recipe for success. Until one day, when Mel stumbled on a mysterious tomb that left him mentally scarred and determined to give up treasure hunting (and the use of his gift) forever.

Mel's new, quiet life in a nondescript city is disturbed when Jacq inexplicably vanishes. Determined to find her, Mel follows a trail of odd clues and finds his gift asserting itself into his thinking despite his best efforts to suppress it. He fears his strange intuition could lead him once again into darkness, but it may be the only way for him to save Jacq.
