Abstract:
Three triblock copolymers, E65S11E65, E66S13E66 and E67S15E67, and four diblock copolymers S15E63, S17E65, S20E67 and E17S8 (where E denotes an ethylene oxide unit and S denotes a styrene oxide unit) have been synthesised by sequential anionic copolymerisation using high vacuum and ampoule techniques. 13C nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy was used to determine the number averaged block lengths. Analysis by gel permeation chromatography showed that the individual blocks and the overall copolymer had narrow molar mass distributions (Mw/Mn
