Abstract:
Surveys were distributed to all RBTs, BCaBAs, BCBAs, and BCBA-Ds in the state of California. The survey asked participants questions about the functional behavioral assessments that they frequently administer in the field, as well as their opinion on the importance and ease of conducting these assessments in the clinical setting. Out of the 501 respondents of the survey, 91.98% respondents reported that it is very important to conduct functional behavioral assessments, but only 36.93% of respondents reported frequently using a combination of indirect, descriptive and functional analyses in the clinical setting. This research further examines survey results and recommends future research to promote more clinicians using functional behavior assessments in the field of applied behavior analysis.
