Objectives: The purpose of this research is to examine the influence of community involvement on the psychological distress among adolescent immigrants to identify implications for social work practice. Method: The following research is a quantitative study, which utilizes an analysis of secondary data from the California Health Interview Survey (CHIS) of adolescents 2013--2014.A sample population of adolescent immigrants was extracted (n-136) CHIS 2013--2014 adolescent survey. Results: The results of the study found no significant relationship between community involvement and psychological distress among adolescent immigrants. A significant relationship, however, was found between gender and psychological distress, with female adolescent immigrants reporting higher levels of distress. Conclusion: This study contributes to the limited literature on psychological distress among adolescent immigrants. It is imperative that social work practitioners continue to identify potential risk and protective factors for psychological distress among this population.
