Özet
This case study explores workforce development employees' perception of their managers as transformational leaders. Therefore, the purpose of this instrumental case study is to understand the employees' perceptions of their managers as transformational leaders in a workforce development organization located in the Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina. Findings that emerged from these interviews illustrated that workforce development employees' perceptions of their managers as transformational leaders have a positive impact within this organization. Specifically, findings from this study unveiled that (a) the four I's of transformational leadership create a positive work, (b) the managers of the workforce development agency in this research study are utilizing transformational leadership practices, (c) creating an atmosphere of team work/family environment was the most positive impact as related to employees' perceptions of their managers as transformational leaders in this workplace organization. These findings are of the utmost significance because the turnover rate for many nonprofit workforce development agencies is high, and many leaders are looking for ways to build a team that buys into the vision of the organization. It is imperative that the findings from this study be shared with scholars in Leadership Studies, practitioners, policymakers, workforce development staff and leaders of workforce development agencies who may use this study as a foundation on how change can be affected across the nation so that they may do their part in assisting with the creation of new and innovative training programs for organizational leaders and managers throughout the world.
