Özet
Perspective taking is a skill that typically develops with age and is a behavioral repertoire that allows a person to predict another person's thoughts, feelings, emotions, or behavior based on their past experiences with that person. Previous research has been conducted in traditional and behavioral psychology, and this paper aims to extend upon this research by using a single-case design to explore the development of relationships by looking at the duration of the relationship specifically.

The participants of this study were 8 undergraduate students who attend California State University, Los Angeles, and the method consisted of baseline and posttests that examined how well the participant could predict the model's preferences after viewing videos of the model choosing their preferred items. Two sets of stimuli were grouped into either the Duration or No Duration condition, which specified how many times each preference assessment was observed. Participants' results were graphed using a multiple probe variation of a multiple-baseline design across participants, and the data show that participants' accuracy improved after the perspective taking intervention, especially for the duration condition. Findings from this study contribute to previous research on perspective taking and provides information about the role of duration in establishing interpersonal relationships.
