Female leadership represents a vast untapped source of innovation, job creation, and economic growth within the healthcare industry. The general problem within the healthcare system is that the multidisciplinary business skills of females are not valued. Moreover, female healthcare leaders need to develop the business skills necessary to manage healthcare organizations efficiently and effectively. The purpose of this exploratory single case study was to explore the perceptions of healthcare multidisciplinary female executives, and their views regarding which successful business skills are required to positively influence an acute healthcare facility in South Florida. The central research question was: What are the perceptions of healthcare executives regarding the successful business skills that are required for performance and growth to positively influence efficiency in an acute healthcare facility in South Florida? The participants were 15 female executive healthcare leaders. The data were collected through face-to-face interviews with ten open-ended interview questions. The data were entered, coded, and processed using the NVivo 11 software program. The following major themes emerged: the ability to manage finance and productivity, the ability to communication effectively, the ability to manage employees, and the ability to multitask well. Recommendations were presented based on the themes and research findings.
