Özet:
This dissertation will engage in a critical analysis of the contextual conditions which Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and, generally speaking, surviving trauma at large, force upon the individual survivor of any traumatic event. This work will also move to examine and survey the parallel scaffolding, hegemonic paradigms, and constructs of political, social, and theological praxis and arrangement which have in turn sustained and created the particular suffering - laden point of circumstance and existence aforementioned. This work intends to expose a dynamic paradigm of dialectic which will provide an alternative narrative to historically constructed approaches and contiguous notions of time and its relationship to trauma. Emergent within this project is a literary flow that intends to compel the reader to challenge their own architypes of trauma, time, and response. This analysis and reflection will be methodologically examined through a lens of historical, sociological, and theological response, and will be supported, at times, and contrasted at other points within the work, by models of literary, psychoanalytic, ethnographic, and ethical inquiry. Fundamental response and engagement embedded within the work includes insights from trauma theory, moral injury, just war theory, as well as interlocutors within the broader field of psychology and psychoanalysis.
This dissertation, while heavily burdened with the weight of such emotional considerations as suffering and historical atrocity, will weave first hand rigor alongside an epistemological approach to surveying psychological impacts of suffering and responsive moral bearings. This work moves to engage its reader in very visceral and emotional spectrums, therein offering a reflection of the lived experience of the trauma survivor with the intent of giving answer and credibility to the title proposal that God suffers from PTSD.
