Abstract: Background: In high velocity sports, significant knee injuries are commonplace. Prophylactic Bracing of the Knee Joint is a popular method among sports medicine clinicians to enhance overall stability about the knee, in aims to reduce or limit future injuries. The knowledge of brace specificity and techniques to enrich stability of the knee, while allowing full functionality during sport specific movement is key. According to the literature bracing remains controversial as to true overall effectiveness.
