The study sought to understand the experiences of female, African-American track and field student-athletes in the context of a Predominantly White Institution (PWI). A better understanding of the experiences African-American females as student, athletes, and the campus racial climate may help higher education practitioners provide programs, policies, services, and practices; and offer a subgroup of students who have been historically underrepresented in research and opportunity to share their stories.
