Özet:
Special Needs students are placed in inclusion classrooms to receive high quality education in the least restrictive environment. The general education teacher, and the Special Education teacher are responsible to deliver instruction that meets the individual needs of students with an IEP, and regular students. In many cases teachers have not been properly trained to teach in an inclusion setting. The lack of training in inclusion practices, laws and the high expectations for student achievement increases teachers' frustration and negative perception of inclusion. Research indicates that proper training not only increases student achievement, but also increases teachers' effectiveness. Professional learning is the key to provide teachers the knowledge and support they need to succeed in the inclusion classroom.
