Özet:
A three-component coupling methodology between an internal alkyne, homopropargylic alkoxide, and a homoallylic alkoxide facilitated by titanium isopropoxide was investigated. Precedent showed that alkyne--alkyne cross-coupling proceeded in modest yields when the active organometallic species was generated using Grignard reagents. Unexpectedly low yields of diene product were observed when n-BuLi was used instead of a Grignard reagent. It was discovered that the addition of TMSCl results in higher yields for the cross-coupling of alkynes with titanium isopropoxide. This discovery led to results demonstrating the three-component intermolecular coupling reaction yielding cyclohexadiene products as single regioisomers.
