Natural disasters and events that cause great damage or loss of life have become more frequent and severe over the last decade. Many emergencies can be difficult to predict, and households are faced with the challenge of responding to them as a priority when they strike. The need for individuals to consider a plan in the event of an emergency is becoming more of a concern for various stakeholders and networks of support. Thoughtful design can assist in individual preparation, participation, and understanding of available resources before, during, and after a natural disaster and safeguard individuals and their property from harm.
