Özet:
An ecofeminist interspecies Goddess thealogy is a spirituality that guides humans in the healing of their fragmented relationships with animals. It is proposed that this healing will enable us to hear the wisdom of animals and to learn about their needs and desires. It is an embodied spirituality that embraces the Goddess within all beings and embraces the spiritual connections between humans, other animals, and nature. An ecofeminist interspecies Goddess thealogy weaves together ecofeminist philosophy, a feminist ethic of care, and women's spirituality---including ecofeminist and Goddess spirituality, ecowomanism, Indigenous feminism, and feminist process thealogy. Several aspects of an ecofeminist interspecies Goddess thealogy are presented, including a proposed feminist cosmology and ontology of animals as sacred beings, therianthropic Goddess iconography, and a vegan ecofeminist animal-ethic-of-compassion.
This study examines the roots of our Western estrangement from our spiritual connections with our sister and fellow beings, focusing on our problematic inheritance of Jewish and Christian teachings that separated humans from nature and other animals. Using feminist hermeneutics, comparative analysis, and a comparative historical method, this dissertation examines the foundations of philosophical humanism in biblical literature and the key positions regarding animals in ancient and modern Western philosophical traditions. This study examines both the work of contemporary theologians and philosophers who advocate alternative biblical interpretations of interspecies relationships and the work of ethologists and veterinarians who are re-educating humans about the spiritual connections we share with animals.
This study examines the relevance of ancient therianthropic religious iconography from the Neolithic Danubian culture, Kretan--Minoan culture, and ancient Near Eastern cultures. This study also explores Goddess artwork with interspecies themes and examines the spiritual relationships between humans and animals in Native American cultures.
An ecofeminist interspecies Goddess thealogy seeks to empower women and restore an understanding of the sacredness of nature and of all living beings, so that we may sustain harmonious, healthy, and fully ethical lives. Additionally, this thealogy asks us to make compassionate consumption choices in order to honor the sacred animals with whom we share our earthly home.
