Özet:
Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) exhibit deficits in social skills, staying on-task, and completing school work. Some interventions that address social skills can also increase on-task behaviors and academic work completion for children with ASD. One such intervention is Peer Mediated Instruction Intervention (PMII). PMII can be used to increase on-task behaviors and work completion for children with ASD. There is a need for more research concerning this intervention. This study implemented PMII with lower elementary-aged students to determine if the intervention would decrease off-task behavior for these participants. Results indicated that with both participants, experimental control was not obtained during the intervention and it cannot be determined if PMII was effective in decreasing the student's off-task behaviors.
