Parent involvement in a child's education has shown to have a positive influence on the child's literacy development (Hindin et. al, 2017). The purpose of this action research project was to validate the importance of parent involvement and how it increases reading fluency in students with learning disabilities in a reading resource classroom. The study took place over nine weeks of time. Data were collected using a reading log, Aimsweb fluency, attendance to family activities, and a student and parent survey. The research shows a correlation between parent involvement and the participant's reading fluency.
