Özet:
This quantitative research study will be conducted to achieve a greater perspective of what effect commitment to organizational change and organizational change beliefs on readiness for change concerning faculty members at colleges and universities during an organizational change initiative. A non-experimental, correlation-based, cross-sectional research study will measure the effect that commitment and beliefs have on readiness for organizational change. The questionnaire that was used for the study was developed by combining the Organizational Change Recipients' Beliefs Scale (Armenakis, Bernerth, Pitts, & Walker, 2007), Commitment to Organizational Change Scale (Herscovitch & Meyer, 2002), and the Readiness for Change Scale (Holt, Armenakis, Feild, & Harris, 2007). Moderated multiple regression was used to analyze the data collected at 17 universities in 16 states to determine the effect of the relationship that commitment and beliefs have on readiness for organizational change. An electronic survey was used for this research study, and 433 faculty members participated in the survey. The data analysis supported previous research that there is a strong positive correlation between the relationship organizational change recipients' beliefs and commitment to organizational change has on readiness for change. This research is critical in providing senior managers the information that will explain how commitment and beliefs affect readiness of change. Additionally, the data that will be provided will afford the change agent the opportunity to address this information in the planning and communications phases as the organization is preparing to implement an organizational change.
