Özet:
The research study was a qualitative descriptive case study utilizing Heifetz's adaptive leadership theory for the research model. The purposive sample was from a provider association composed of leaders, representatives, owners, and clinicians of Virginia community-based behavioral health organizations. The 26 organizational members were screened down to 15 eligible organizations of which six leaders volunteered to participate. Patterns, similarities, differences, connections, and assertions were used for thematic content analysis to identify relevant and key themes. The nine-question, semistructured interviews were transcribed verbatim from the recordings, analyzed using NVivo software to review for thematic content. The lessons learned indicated a need for adaptive leaders to be proactive in preparing themselves, their organization, and staff for unexpected changes through training and collaboration with regulatory officials. Results indicated early collaboration with stakeholders benefits policymakers, leaders, staff, and clients in achieving common goals.
