Özet:
The thesis consists of an introductory chapter and six main chapters. Each chapter consists of one problem. In the beginning of each chapter a brief survey of the work done by the other investigators in connection with the problem is given Special effort has been made to present our contribution in a cogent manner and to avoid repetitions as far as possible.
Chapter 1 gives a general survey of the development of shock wave theory, a brief description of the methods of studying the propagation of shock waves. It also gives a brief account of basic equations of motion and boundary conditions.
Chapter 2 deals with the self-similar isothermal flows in the uniform and non-uniform media with magnetic field in spherical symmetry. Numerical results have been illustrated through tables.
Chapter 3 discusses the similarity solutions in non-ideal gas for a radiation driven shock wave. Radiation propagating radially inwards, is completely absorbed in the shock layer of a spherical expanding shock wave. The shock wave propagates as an over-driven detonation. The results are obtained for adiabatic flow behind the shock front and illustrated through figures.
In chapter 4 the subject of the present analysis is the self-similar isothermal flow behind a cylindrical shock wave propagating in a uniform non-ideal gas allowing for the effect of transverse magnetic field. Results are shown through figures.
The chapter 5 discloses the exact similarity solution for the flows behind a strong shock waves propagating in a mixture of a gas and small solid particles in which the density remains constant and radiation is important. Numerical results have been shown through figures.
In the chapter 6 the C.C.W. - method is used to study a closed solution describing the propagation of converging cylindrical shock wave in the presence of axial magnetic field in an uniform atmosphere. An analytical solution has been also obtained.
The chapter 7 investigates problem of converging cylindrical detonation waves in the gaseous explosive mixture in the presence of transverse magnetic field using the C.C.W.-method. Results are illustrated through figures.
