The majority of research on mindfulness has analyzed the efficacy of 8-week mindfulness interventions in reducing stress, anxiety, and increasing well-being with homogenous samples of Caucasian college students. Little attention has focused on brief mindfulness interventions within the Latina/o population specifically. The purpose of this quantitative study was to implement a brief, 4--week mindfulness intervention on a sample of Latina/o parents within a community clinic. The Mindful Attention Awareness Scale was used to measure mindfulness pre and post intervention. The impact of mindfulness on stress and life satisfaction was measured using the Parenting Stress Index-Short Form, the Perceived Stress Scale, and the Satisfaction with Life Scale. Data collected was analyzed using paired samples t-test in order to determine within group pre and post test outcomes in mindfulness, stress and overall life satisfaction.
