Özet:
Threshold concepts of writing are formulated in part from the discipline of education by Meyer and Land who envision disciplinary knowledge, or threshold concepts, as potentially transformative to student understandings and identities. Furthermore, threshold concepts are also grounded in certain ideologies about transfer as discussed by Perkins and Salomon. I will argue that these ideological frameworks have the potential to produce implicit and explicit assumptions about the students who first enter our classrooms, and even the discourse communities from which they have come.
